Service area

Our service area: New York, the Northeast and nationwide

Our service area starts in New York City. Vehicles are dispatched from here to the five boroughs, Long Island and Westchester, plus New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts, with any positioning time written on the quote. Beyond those states, vetted partner operators supply the vehicle and our dispatcher keeps the booking.

New York City, home base of our service area

Our page on car service across New York City covers all five boroughs, from Manhattan and Brooklyn to Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island, with the venue and street rules that make city bookings go smoothly.

From there you can compare black car service for individual rides with charter bus rental and the other group transportation services we dispatch.

Brooklyn car service has its own page because airport runs, weddings and party-bus nights there have their own street rules.

Long Island, Westchester and the neighboring states

Covered from our own dispatch. Nassau and Suffolk to JFK; Westchester and Fairfield County to LaGuardia; Hoboken, Jersey City, Montclair and the shore to Newark. The Hamptons, the Hudson Valley and the North Fork are popular for wine tours and weddings.

Trips across the state lines get the same desk. Suburban pickups are quoted flat, and where a vehicle has to travel a long way to reach you, that positioning time is a line on the quote you can see.

Nationwide, through partner operators

Trips that start in Washington, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles or anywhere else outside the regional service area are placed with vetted partner operators.

What does not change is the desk. You deal with the Trans Dispatch dispatcher from quote to drop-off, and the quote and the confirmation come from us. That is luxury transportation nationwide with one contact, which suits companies whose people travel to many cities.

How a suburban pickup is quoted

A suburban or out-of-town pickup is quoted like a city one, with one extra line where it applies: positioning, the time the vehicle spends getting to you from its base.

Whether that line applies depends on where the nearest suitable vehicle is. For a pickup in the far Hamptons or northern Connecticut, look for that line and ask whether a partner vehicle based nearer makes more sense. Either way, the number is on the quote, not hidden in the rate.

Airports and terminals

JFK airport transfers, LaGuardia pickups and Newark airport rides each have their own page, with Teterboro, Westchester County and Islip on request.

The Manhattan, Brooklyn and Bayonne cruise terminals are booked much like an airport run: add the ship and the sailing time. The airport car service page covers vehicles and pickup options at all three airports.

Other towns in our service area

  • New Jersey: Hoboken, Jersey City, Montclair, Summit, Morristown and the shore towns.
  • Connecticut: Greenwich and the rest of Fairfield County.
  • Long Island: Nassau and Suffolk, including the Hamptons and the North Fork.
  • North of the city: Westchester.
  • Pennsylvania and Massachusetts: Philadelphia, Boston and the towns around them.

Each of those pickups goes through the same quote form and the same dispatcher as a city ride.

Interstate and long-distance trips

The Northeast is one market to a dispatcher and five states to the toll authorities. Interstate trips are priced with the bridges and tunnels written on the quote: Brooklyn to Newark, Greenwich to JFK, Hoboken to LaGuardia, Connecticut to a wedding on Long Island.

Longer transfers to Philadelphia, Boston, Washington and the Poconos are quoted per trip, with the driver’s hours planned in.

Nationwide trips start with the same step: tell dispatch where the trip begins and ends, and the quote comes back with the vehicle, the route and every line that applies.

Service area questions

Is my town in your service area?

If the trip starts in the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Massachusetts, yes. Elsewhere in the US, a partner operator runs it and our dispatcher stays your contact. Send the pickup address through the quote form to check.

Do you charge extra for pickups outside Manhattan?

Any positioning time for a pickup far from the vehicle’s base is stated on the quote as its own line, so you see it before you confirm.

How does nationwide service work?

For a trip that starts outside our region, dispatch places it with a vetted partner operator. You deal with our dispatcher from quote to drop-off.

Do you cover the Hamptons and the Jersey Shore?

Yes. Both are part of our regular regional coverage. For the far East End or the southern shore towns, check the positioning line on the quote.

Can you handle a trip that crosses state lines?

Yes. Trips that cross between New York and its neighboring states are part of regular service, and longer interstate runs are planned with the driver’s hours and tolls on the quote.
