Minibus and shuttle bus rental in New York City

Minibus rental with a driver in New York, New Jersey and nationwide

Trans Dispatch arranges shuttle bus rental and minibus rental with a driver for pickups across New York City, Long Island and Westchester and throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts, with partner operators covering trips nationwide. The buses carry wedding guests, conference delegates, staff between sites, airport groups and day-trippers.

Sizes run from an executive Sprinter for up to 14, through a minibus for 24 to 35, to a motorcoach for up to 56 for bigger lists. The minibus has forward-facing seats, under-seat storage with a rear rack and climate control.

The three classes that suit shuttle work are shown below. If none of them fits, or the plan involves several hotels and staggered pickups, describe the job in your request; dispatch can source other vehicles and will suggest the shuttle that suits your guests, your timings and your route.

Shuttle sizes: minibus, Sprinter and motorcoach

A shuttle is a schedule as much as a vehicle, so the right choice depends on headcount, frequency and where the bus can stand. Models and capacities are class-typical, and the quote names the exact vehicle. For a side-by-side view, read charter bus vs minibus vs Sprinter.

Specs are summarized below the size cards, and Sprinter van rental covers the executive layout for smaller groups.

Minibus for 24 to 35: hotel loops and conference runs

The usual choice for wedding guest loops, employee shuttles and conference runs between Midtown hotels and the Javits Center. Forward-facing seats, under-seat storage, a rear rack and climate control; ask dispatch about a PA microphone or wheelchair lift. Planning a wedding? Executive Sprinter for smaller shuttles, up to 14

A quieter shuttle for a team of twelve moving between a hotel and an office in Hudson Yards, or a visiting group collected from JFK or Newark. Forward-facing leather seats, reading lights, chargers and tinted windows, with a rear luggage area for up to 14 bags.

Motorcoach for groups past 35, up to 56

When a guest list or delegation passes 35 and the transfer is long, such as a Manhattan hotel to a Hudson Valley venue, one coach keeps everyone together. Reclining seats, a restroom, luggage bays, power outlets and a PA system; Wi-Fi and screens vary by coach. See charter bus rental.

How it works

Book a shuttle bus in three steps

  1. Tell us the trip

Pickup, drop-off, date, time and headcount. Under a minute on the form — or a phone call if you would rather talk it through.

  2. Get a firm price

A dispatcher checks availability and replies with the vehicle class and the quote. Nothing is charged on this website.

  3. Ride

Confirm, and the chauffeur’s details reach you before pickup. Airport rides are matched to the flight, not the clock.

Shuttle bus rental questions

What is the difference between a shuttle bus and a minibus?

Mostly the job, not the vehicle. A shuttle bus runs a loop, such as hotel to venue on a set schedule for a few hours; a minibus rental is usually one trip or a day with the group. Both use the same vehicles.

How many people fit in a minibus?

Between 24 and 35, depending on the model, with luggage under the seats and on a rear rack. For groups of 14 or fewer an executive Sprinter is more comfortable and easier to park.

Can I rent a minibus with a driver for a whole day?

Yes. Full-day rentals are quoted for the hours and the route, with the driver’s breaks built in. If the day runs past the driver’s legal limit, the quote will say so and explain the options.

Can one shuttle serve several hotels?

Yes. List the hotels in the order they should be served, with the first and last run times. Each added stop lengthens the loop, so dispatch will say whether one vehicle keeps the wait reasonable or a second is needed.

How much is a shuttle bus rental?

It depends on the hours the loop runs, the distance between stops and the date. Most shuttles are quoted as a block of hours with a minimum, and your quote spells out that minimum and the exact price for your date.

Is a minibus easier to use in Manhattan than a full-size coach?

Considerably. It fits streets and curbs that a full-size coach cannot, which matters for hotels in Midtown and venues in Brooklyn. If the group is under 35 and the route is in the city, it is usually the right call.

Is there a restroom on the minibus?

A restroom is not listed for this class. On trips longer than about an hour, or with small children or older passengers aboard, the motorcoach is the better pick because it has one.

Will the driver wait while our group is at the event?

Yes, when the booking is hourly or for the full day. Between the drop-off and the ride back, your driver remains with the vehicle, or finds parking nearby when the venue has no room for the bus. Include the return time in your quote request so dispatch can schedule the wait.
